I've worked up a baby hat using one of my favorite stitches, the Brick Stitch ! Let me know if you like it !
Tumbling
Blocks Baby Hat
Designed by Katy Diltz
A cute baby hat using a stitch pattern that has several
names; Brick Stitch, Crazy Shell, Diagonal Box stitch, and Crazy Stitch to name
a few. In this pattern we’ll call it the Brick Stitch cause the design of the hat makes it look
like alternating brick pattern, or tumbling blocks !
Newborn baby sized
hat: with the hat lying flat,
Hat height should measure about 5.5 – 6
inches (13 – 15 cm) from the brim to crown.
Hat width 6 – 6.5 inches (16.5 –
18 cm) measured across the brim.
Adjust
your yarn size or hook size to get the proper size.
Turning you work after each round will give the tumbling
blocks effect.
Stitches are USA crochet abbreviations
Brick Stitch Patterns:
Brick stitch pattern #1 (BS1) is (single crochet, chain 2, 2 double crochet) all in the same stitch.
